SciTech Days
Pittsburgh’s high-tech growth industries offer a myriad of opportunities for exploration! Meet dozens of scientists and regional innovators from companies and colleges like Bayer MaterialScience, US Steel Corporation, FedEx Ground, the University of Pittsburgh, and Carnegie Mellon University. Students get their SciTech passports stamped by talking with experts and participating in hands-on experiments in the fields of biotech, nanotech, infotech, environmental technology, advanced materials, and robotics. A variety of special workshops and demonstrations by scientists and industry leaders are also offered. Learn more

ChemFest
Through presentations, demonstrations, and exciting activities, Carnegie Science Center’s celebration of National Chemistry Week provides your students with an opportunity to explore a future in chemistry. This year’s theme is “Behind the Scenes With Chemistry!” Students can talk with professional chemists and chemical engineers about career choices in science while getting their hands dirty in actual experiments and mixing up a whole lot of fun. For fifth grade and up.

StormFest Gale force winds are blowing a spectacular educational festival of the geosciences into town! Explore the Earth sciences – geography, geology, meteorology, and more – at this festival for middle school students in partnership with California University of Pennsylvania. Prepare your students for a downpour of education. There’s 100% chance of hands-on learning, so don’t miss out! For first grade and up.

Engineer the Future
Celebrate the achievements of millions of engineers who contribute daily to improving our quality of life. This program is designed to interest and inspire young people to explore engineering by interacting with professionals in the field, trying hands-on activities, and checking out presentations at more than 50 event tables.
